Introduction
The
Seamaster range of sailers and motor cruisers was manufactured
by the Seamaster company of Great Dunmow, Essex, England until
they ceased trading in 1981.
The
Seamaster Club was founded in 1992 to help owners of Seamaster
Sailers and Seamaster Motor Cruisers with the maintenance and
improvement of their boats, and as a source of advice and assistance.
Membership of the Club is also open to boats built on Seamaster
hulls but finished by other boatyards, such as several models
in the Viking Seamaster range and other Viking boats built on
Seamaster hulls, and to boats finished by Springfield, Bounty
Boats, Aardvark, etc.
Our
President for the first ten years, Geoffrey Brunning, was one
of the original directors of Seamaster boats thus providing
a link with the past. Jane
Wall, our current President, and her late husband Wilf, were
the moving spirits behind the founding of the Club.
This
site is aimed primarily at members of the Club but also provides
some background, etc for others who may be interested in Seamaster
sailers and motor cruisers, particularly those who may wish
to become members.
